Coimbatore, 16 Nov 2014: In an innovative and untraditional way, an effort was made here by a women’s organization to bring young women and girls closer to the past and the present. On the theme of Women’s rights and issues, a two-day photo exhibition was opened here Saturday.

The exhibition displays prominent women personalities and activists with guide standing to explain their brave struggle to the visitors. A section of the exhibition is dedicated to the contribution of women in India’s freedom struggle. Besides, the exhibition also sheds light on serious issues and threats surrounding Indian women. Through different visio-graphics, another section presents issues like domestic violence, rapes, under-representations, female feticide, human trafficking and riots victims, said M.
