Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina, 17 March 2015: A photography exhibition – ‘Meanwhile in India’ opens in Sarajevo, the capital city of Bosnia-Herzegovina on 19th March 2015 at the Gallery of the Academy of Fine Arts. The celebrated Bosnian photo journalist Amer Kapetanovic’s portraits, landscapes, street scenes and images of the everyday life in India that he captured during his India visit will be on display. The exhibition was earlier set up in Novi Sad in June 2014.
Amer Kapetanovic is commissioned by different agencies of the United Nations (UN) to cover their programmes in Bosnia. He has covered many assignments for the UNICEF, UN Women, UNDP, UNFPA, UNV and UNEP. He is respected for producing several national campaigns aimed to end violence against women, girls and children. He worked for the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina from July 2002 to May 2008. He loves to travel and get into the skin of different countries with his photography and videography. India was one of his photographic journeys. Speaking to IndiaTomorrow.net from Sarajevo, Amer sounded upbeat about the exhibition on India. He is busy with the preparations for the exhibition. He promised to share his India experiences with IndiaTomorrow.net in detail shortly and thanked India and Indians for the warmth that he has experienced so far.
It will be for the first time in Bosnia that on the opening day of exhibition Macline d.o.o and Sony have teamed up together for digital cinema projection of photography in 4K technology. This technology enables displaying of photography on large areas with quite impressive details about colour and depth. This special projection is planned only for the day of opening of Amer’s ‘Meanwhile in India’ exhibition. Franz & Sophie Tea shop will serve the original Indian Masala Chai to enhance the mood and complement the visual experience.
The exhibition will conclude on Thursday, 26th March 2015.
