Ludhiana, 29 August 2014: “Communal forces must stop their unholy campaign to malign the image of Islam in the name of ‘Love Jihad’ – a new tool of their divisive politics,” said Maulana Habibur Rahman Sani Ludhianvi, Shahi Imam of Punjab and national president of Ahrar Party. He was addressing a press conference here at Jama Masjid after Friday prayers today.

Under the influence of western culture, the young generation of India is forgetting their culture and moral values and communal forces are blaming Muslims for this also, said the Imam.

He categorically said there is nothing like ‘Love Jihad’ in Islam. “Islam strongly asks its followers not to even look at other women (except close family members), leave aside interaction,” he said.

“It is a very ugly and vile allegation that Islam is asking its youths to misguide girls of other religion and then marry with them. Those who made such an allegation did not even think there is a limit of allegation and animosity. Communal forces who hate Muslim minority have crossed their limit,” said the Shahi Imam.

He said today’s youths are blinding following English culture. “It has now become very common that boys and girls of one religion are having court marriage with boys and girls of other religion. Social media is promoting this new fashion”, he said and expressed sadness that politicians are trying to get political mileage of the hate campaign.

“It would be better if leaders of all regions come together to put a check on the spread of western culture in our Indian society,” he appealed.

The Shahi Imam was accompanied by his deputy Shahi Imam Maulana Usman Rahmani, Ghulam Hasan Qaiser, Mohammad Mustaqeem Ahrari, chief secretary of the Shahi Imam and others.
