New Delhi, 22 July 2014: AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal and four party parliamentarians Tuesday met the families of Indians stranded in strife-torn Iraq.

The former Delhi chief minister listened to the woes of the families who staged a sit-in at Jantar Mantar in central Delhi.

Aam Aadmi Party Lok Sabha member Bhagwant Mann accompanied the families to meet officials in the external affairs ministry.

“The AAP demands that the central government should be more pro-active in ensuring the safe return of Indian workers still stuck in Iraq,” said a party statement.

Militant group Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) recently captured parts of Iraq and declared a new caliphate.
