NEW DELHI, JUNE 28—Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) Syed Sadatullah Hussaini has condemned Israel’s plans to annex large swathes of Palestinian land in the West Bank and demanded immediate international intervention.

In a statement to the media, the JIH President said: “We condemn the reported plan of Israel to annex large swathes of Palestinian land in the West Bank and demand immediate intervention by the international community to prevent Israel from carrying out its nefarious plans.

“It is a blatant and treacherous violation of the internationally recognized principle of territorial integrity and the rule that territories will not be acquired by war”, said the Jamaat chief.

“Jamaat is highly concerned about the feeble response of the international community to this development and demands that the United Nations and international community should immediately take swift action to prevent this flagrant violation of all accepted norms of justice and UN Security Council resolutions on Palestine”, the Jamaat President said.

Syed Sadatullah added: “Jamaat-e-Islami Hind has repeatedly raised its voice against the unjust occupation, illegal construction of colonies and grave injustice to Palestine at the hands of Israel. We appeal to the Muslim Ummah and all peace and justice-loving people of the world to work towards the freedom of ‘’First Qiblah’’ to ensure the fundamental rights to people of Palestine on their lands and solution of the Palestinian problem using all peaceful and constitutional means. India has always fought imperialist powers and supported countries in their struggle against imperialism and apartheid. Jamaat demands the Government of India to come out publicly against this move and advise Israel to desist from the expansionist plans of Netanyahu, clearly aimed at averting conviction in the criminal charges against him to ensure his political survival.”
