In 2019-2023 Term, Jamaat to Focus on Muslim Society Reform, Bridging Gap between Communities

New Delhi, July 13— Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, one of the largest and prominent Muslim organizations in India, has officially released its new policy and program for the term 2019 to 2023. During the four-year period, Jamaat announced it would work for healthy reform in the Muslim community and bridging gap between communities in the country.

Jamaat’s newly-elected President Syed Sadatullah Husainin released the policy and program at the Press Club of India here on Saturday. He was accompanied by Jamaat’s Vice President Mohammad Salim Engineer.

“Jamaat would focus on Indian society, seeking to rebuild it on healthy basis. Universal values would be protected and attempts will be made to dispel the atmosphere of distrust and conflict,” said Jamaat in a hand-out given to mediapersons.

“Healthy reform in the Muslim community along with their safety and security would also be high on our priority list. Establishing peace and justice in the country along with serving people and caring for their education is also an important part of our program…Spreading the message of Islam and removing misunderstanding about Islam and Muslims is the need of the hour,” it said.

Jamaat will promote healthy values and improve community relations. It will “bridge the gap between communities by reducing misunderstanding and avoiding conflict through healthy communication and encouraging due regard to mutual rights, tolerance and respect for humanity.”

Jamaat will “establish peace and justice in the country on the basis of universal ethical values” and it will undertake social service with efforts for the eradication of poverty, disease, illiteracy, hunger and unemployment and providing relief during disasters.
