New Delhi, 16 Nov 2014: Delhi High Court has sought a response from the city police and a retired ACP on a plea filed by a woman constable seeking his arrest for allegedly cheating and raping her.

Justice Pratibha Rani issued notice to the police commissioner, the deputy commissioner of south district and Rajender Singh, the retired ACP, and asked them to file their response by Dec 17.

The woman approached the court seeking direction for police to arrest Rajender Singh and transfer the probe to the CBI as the Delhi Police had not been taking any action against the former ACP.

Filing the plea through advocate R.D. Rana, the woman alleged that she had known Rajender Singh from 1994 when he was the SHO of the Hauz Khas police station and she was a constable there.

She alleged that the officer had physical relations with her on false pretext of marriage. The woman also alleged that the ACP had told her that he was a divorcee and would marry her. However, she later came to know that he was living with his wife.

Last year he took the woman to Chandigarh and had physical relations with her, said the woman, who is around 42 years old.

The ACP also threatened the woman. She registered an FIR on July 7 at the Kotla Mubarakpur police station.
