IndiaTomorrow.net,
Jaipur, May 26: As the video of Sikh men being beaten up in a village of Ajmer went viral on social media, the Rajasthan Minority Commission has sought a “factual report” from the state police in ten days.

The video surfaced on Thursday shows four men lying on the ground and being abused and beaten up by a mob. The Sikh men are said to be from Alwar district.

As per media reports, the incident took place in Chainpura village on 24th April when the Sewadars of a Gurudwara in Alwar went to the village for donations. The villagers, who allegedly thrashed them, claimed that they had molested a woman.

“Our primary inquiry revealed that the sewadars were arrested under section 151 (preventive detention) of the criminal of the Criminal Procedure Code on a complaint from the Chainpura Sarpanch. They were released later,” Jasbir Singh, Chairperson of Rajasthan Minority Commission was quoted as saying by The Hindu newspaper.

The commission will take appropriate action after getting all details of the case registered at Nasirabad Sadar police station.

Singh also told the English daily that after initial inquiry it was found that all those Sikh men are innocent, and the police have asked them to file a complaint against the assaulters but they did not file the complaint and left the village.
