Delhi Violence: Full List of Delhi Government’s Relief Measures for Victims

NEW DELHI, FEBRUARY 27— Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday announced several big monetary relief measures for the victims of violence in the northeast Delhi. In the violence that started Sunday afternoon and continued till Wednesday, 35 people, including a policeman have been killed and over 200 injured.

The CM announced that family of each deceased person will get Rs 10 lakh, those who have become permanently disabled will get Rs 5 lakh and seriously injured will get Rs 2 lakh besides free medical treatment.

Relief Measures for Physical Losses:
— For family of each deceased, Rs 10 lakh – Rs 1 lakh as ex-gratia and Rs 9 lakh after completion of paper works.

— For family of minor deceased– Rs 5 lakh.

— For one rendered permanently disabled– Rs 5 lakh

— For seriously injured– Rs 2 lakh

— For person with minor injuries– Rs 2 lakh

— For one who has become orphan– Rs 3 lakh

— Full free treatment to injured in government hospitals

— For those getting treatment at private hospitals, the ‘Farishtey Scheme’, made for road accident victims, will be implemented for them, and they will get all free treatment at private hospitals and Delhi government will reimburse their medical bills.

Relief Measures for Economic Losses:
— For one who lost rickshaw – Rs 25k

— For one who lost e-rickshaw – Rs 50k

— For house completely burnt/destroyed – Rs 5 lakh (Rs 1 lakh for renter (if any) and Rs 4 lakh for owner) – Rs 25k as immediate relief and rest after paper work

— For partly damaged house – Rs 2.5 lakh

— For destroyed uninsured shop – Rs 5 lakh

Other Relief Measures:
— Free food distribution in curfew-hit areas from today with the help of NGOs, MLAs and local councillors.

— App will be developed where victims can file claims.

— Special camps of Revenue Department for those who lost documents.

— East Delhi Municipal Corporation will clean the areas.

— Peace committees will be set up in mohallas.

— For insured shops and vehicles – Finance Department to tie up with insurance companies to hold camps in areas.

— Finance Department will ensure easy loans to shops owners.

— Free books and uniforms to children who have lost these things in the violence.

— Students of CBSE and ICSE who could not attend exam due to the violence will be provided another dates.

— SDMs have been appointed as Nodal Officer for relief measures. There are 6 SDMs in violence affected areas, additional 12 SDMs are being appointed. Four night magistrates are being appointed for relief and help.
